This convention, let’s build a:
DSA FOR ALL!
OUR SLATE: NPC FOR ALL
The National Political Committee (NPC) is the highest leadership body of DSA nationally, and makes hundreds of important decisions that affect all members. Groundwork is running a slate of 8 top DSA organizers for NPC, with four first-time NPC candidates joining our current slate of four incumbents.
It’s time to change DSA into a force strong enough to reshape the country. To organize on the scale of the next presidential election, potential general strike, and whatever other national ruptures may come. The way electing Zohran is changing NYC? We need DSA members able to make that level of change everywhere, and on a national level too.
The only way to do so is to become a genuine, mass political party. An organization in the millions, that anyone whose values align with ours can easily hear about, understand, support, join, and learn to organize in. The kind that can transform and run nations.
That means building the national infrastructure needed to fight the fascist right at scale. Uniting the left and labor movement run a presidential candidate in 2028. Turning national DSA from a top-down patchwork where most members have no power into a mass socialist party run by and for DSA members, by and for the working class.
By electing our leadership slate and passing our platform at the 2025 DSA National Convention, every member nationwide will come back in 2027 knowing two things: you have more power to change things inside DSA, and you have more power to change the world through it.

OUR PLATFORM: DSA FOR ALL
From now through convention, Groundwork members are writing in-depth pieces on our convention resolutions, strategy, and vision in action. These are a great way to get the full picture of what our platform would do, and the theory, history, and practice behind it.

2025 National Convention Resolutions
Groundwork has authored a set of national convention resolutions designed to increase member power. That means bringing every DSA member nationwide the ability to wield state power, strike power, and street power in tandem to build the party, and change the world. And it means bringing every DSA member nationwide the ability to meaningfully shape the direction of our national organization by democratically redistributing power from the top down.
Unite Labor & the Left to Run a Socialist For President and Build the Party
This resolution, co-authored with the Bread & Roses caucus, gives DSA the power and mandate to bring together labor unions and other mass organizations into a left-labor coalition to run a Presidential candidate in the 2028 Democratic primary. It will also run a national slate of down-ballot candidates in the 2026 and 2028 elections on a common pro-labor platform.
One Member, One Vote For Federal Endorsements
DSA’s Federal Endorsements define DSA in ways that deeply affect all DSA members. So every DSA member should have a say. This resolution will enable every DSA member to vote on whether National DSA endorses federal candidates, updating the current system where the NPC decides for us.
One Member, One Vote For National Leadership (+AMENDMENT)
DSA’s National Leadership should be decided by the full rank-and-file membership of DSA, not just delegates or officers. 1M1V puts these powers in the hands of ALL members, inspired by the recent reforms which revolutionized the UAW. In our friendly-amended version, it also adds multiple new, mandatory avenues for NPC candidates to ensure all members have clear info on NPC candidates politics, including on major convention resolutions.
Members Decide
The ultimate power to decide DSA’s direction must come from rank and file members. Members Decide enables 5% of rank and file members to call for DSA-wide advisory votes on national decisions.
Democratize National Commissions
Leaders of national bodies should be chosen through a standardized process, not a patchwork of arbitrary systems often chosen by incumbents. This ensures national leadership commissions are democratically elected by either the Convention delegates or the NPC.
Proportional Representation for Chapters
Equal voting power must apply to national conventions too. The current delegate apportionment system gives some members nearly ten times the effective voting power of others at convention, which this resolution fixes.
Make DSA More Diverse
DSA must change into a party as diverse as the working class itself. This revives the Multi-Racial Organizing Commission (MROC), which was reauthorized by consent agenda at the last two conventions, but defunded last year, and creates a biennial MROC conference, and funds and promotes best practices for developing diversity.
Fight Fascism, Build Socialism
DSA can be the weapon against fascism that millions are desperately searching for. This resolution turns our ad hoc Trump response into a focused national campaign, with resources and a clear mission needed to fight the right.
